VASSI is a Bulgarian born artist who lives in Chicago. His career has begun in Europe and has continued in the United States, gradually winning recognition of his style, which since then has been called “tranquil”, “dreamy” or “captivating in its fluidity”.
Vassi defines it as “metaphisical romanticism” and believes that art makes us better human beings, while also restores our inner balance. He finds painting to be a genuine expression of the desire to reach and to communicate effectively with others.
Aside from painting the artist teaches at The Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago. He is also a recipient of a Special Grant from the Illinois Art Council (2007, 2009) and an award of the Skokie Art Guild (2013).
