Memory and Future in the Immigrant Children’s Suitcase

The Virtual Museum of Bulgarians in North America promotes the preservation and strengthening of the knowledge of children’s native tongue, culture, and identity abroad. It is a space where Bulgarian children in North America will also have the chance to share their perspectives – tell us about themselves, their families, the world around them, and the particularities of the multi-cultural environment in North America.

In order to help the work of Bulgarian schools in North America, the virtual museum will offer contests for essays, photo narratives, films, blogs, and websites. The purpose of these contests will be to develop the interest of children and the public in the Bulgarian communities of the past and of today, in order to develop a vision for the future.
